New Memberships

We welcome new members to the ASSJ. Membership includes:

  • an online subscription to ASSJ’s journal, Contemporary Jewry
  • optional paper subscription to Contemporary Jewry
  • access to the ASSJ listserv (hosted on Google Groups)
  • the opportunity to submit member content on the website and to list yourself in the Find an Expert section.

The membership term runs from January 1 to December 31 of each calendar year.  New members may choose a membership term of one, two, or three calendar years.

To join, fill out our online membership form. You will receive a confirmation that confirms your membership and contains information on how to access Contemporary Jewry online, join the ASSJ listserv, submit member content, and list yourself in the Find an Expert section.

Membership Dues

Membership dues are based on income.  They are designed to ensure that ASSJ membership is accessible to all people regardless of socio-economic status.
Membership dues are a significant portion of ASSJ's resources.  ASSJ relies on members to select the dues level that accurately reflects their income.

Membership Renewal

Members will receive email notification about two months before your current membership term ends along with instructions on the renewal process. Memberships may be renewed as of January 1 following the member's expiration date, which will always be on December 31 of the final membership year.
When membership is renewed, a term of one, two or three calendar years may be selected.
